Abstract

Due to the increase in the population of the earth and the limitation of water resources, mankind must act in order to preserve and provide this important by thinking of solutions and adopting various measures. Iran's location on the belt of dry areas, lack of rainfall and evaporation from the surface of reservoirs are among the issues that make the problem of water shortage in the country more serious. One of the ways to combat and control this shortage is to reduce evaporation from the reservoirs behind the dams. Evaporation of water from surface deposits in addition to water loss that can be used for agriculture and urban use; It also increases the concentration of salts and reduces the quality of irrigation water. of heavy alcohols can reduce the intensity of evaporation in dry seasons. In this research, octadecanol dissolved in ethanol was used as a chemical method. which were sprayed on the surface of class A evaporation pan every three days was used. By spraying this powder on prepared small tanks with dimensions of 2x2x2 cubic meters in the water and meteorology research station, quantitative (evaporation reduction rate) and qualitative (possible changes on some chemical and microbial parameters) effects were investigated. The result is presented. Quantitative and qualitative results have been controlled in the two-month period between the control and sample ponds. In order to investigate the performance of these coatings in reducing evaporation, they were investigated for 2 months from 1/6/1400 to 30/7/1400. Each of the treatments .
